ALUMNI MANAGER ELECTION, EXTENSION OF NOMINATION PERIOD AND SUSPENSION OF NEW MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION

As at 5pm Tuesday, 23 April 2019   no valid nomination form for the Alumni Manager Election has been received.

Pursuant to   Rule 7 of the Alumni Manager Election Rules, the close of nomination period   for the Alumni Manager Election is extended for a period of 7 days to 5pm   Tuesday, 30 April 2019.

Registration   of new membership will continue to be suspended.

No valid nomination form received

Unless otherwise stated, capitalised terms used herein shall bear the same meanings as those defined in the Alumni Association’s circular posted on the Alumni Association’s website on 23 March 2019.

The Executive Committee regrets that as at 5pm Tuesday, 23 April 2019 no valid nomination form for the Alumni Manager Election has been received by the Alumni Association.

Extension of close of nomination period

Because of the absence of valid nomination form received within the prescribed nomination period, and pursuant to Rule 7 of the Alumni Manager Election Rules, the close of nomination period for the Alumni Manager Election is extended for a period of 7 days to 5pm Tuesday, 30 April 2019. Voting Members of the Alumni Association interested to run for the Alumni Manager Election may still enrol with the Alumni Association until 5pm Tuesday, 30 April 2019. The eligibility of candidature and procedure for enrolment are set out in the said circular.

Potential effect of the absence of valid nomination

As stated in the said circular, the Alumni Association will nominate such successful candidate of the Alumni Manager Election (or in case of an uncontested election, the only candidate) be registered as the School’s Alumni Manager. In the event that no valid nomination form is received by the Alumni Association by 5pm Tuesday, 30 April 2019, the Alumni Association will refrain from nominating any person be registered as the School’s Alumni Manager and the School’s IMC may exercise its right conferred by the Ordinance to make such nomination in place of the Alumni Association.

Suspension of  new membership registration

Registration of new membership will continue to be suspended.
